Just Chillin'

Hi people, It's National Scrapbook Day and I am celebrating at a Scrapbook retreat with my fun loving and crafty friends.  I just finished my first layout of the day.

I am following the May challenge for Scrap Our Stash at: http://scrapourstash.blogspot.com/p/current-challenges.html

The challenge was to create a layout and include an item from your stash for each letter in the word E-M-B-O-S-S.

I used E (enamel dots), M (mist on green banner, it was white), B (banners), O (owl), S (striped paper), S (stickles on just chillin')

I love combining challenges so I also utilized the following sketch challenge:

May 1-7 Sketch #147 at www.sketchesinthyme.blogspot.com

May 1-7 Sketch #147

Here's my rendition.  I hope that you like it. I love scrapping my children's baby pictures.  It always stirs up such tender memories.  My son would pick up the video game remote every time his sister or god-brother would walk away.  He really thought he was playing.

I also love using my Fun Stampers Journey product on my layouts.  I used FSJ banner dies. They're so cute and a great addition to any project.  To order: www.funstampersjourney.com/40

Happy National Scrapbook Day!

All In My Feelings

I am having the time of my life at this retreat this weekend.  The photo above is what God blessed me with this morning.  Won't he do it????

Scrap Diva Retreat is the place here I feel closest to God.  In these mountains, I feel like I can reach up and touch the sunrise and it makes me reflective.  This is an open weekend, which means that 8 of these women I am meeting for the first time.  One woman uses a walker and two are deaf.  We are black, white, latino, married, divorced, single, mothers, pet owners, sisters, daughters and  aunts...the whole gamut.  As  we laugh, talk, eat and scrap together, I realize that we all have a lot in common besides being crafty.  We really are Scrappin' Sisters.  And now we're all FaceBook friends.

Funny phrase of the night: "You are not the same candy apple that I bought at the fair 20 years ago!"
